Description of Project:

To create an online magazine of Armenian archaeology, representing 80 years of archaeological investigation in Armenia.  The website will not only enable all those interested in Armenian archeology to see the results of modern research activity but will also aid in promoting a better understanding of Armenian history and culture for people around the world.

   
Anticipated Results:

Currently only a very small part of the archaeological data in Armenia is available to foreign scholars and the general populace.  This information is critical not only for local studies but also for historical and archaeological investigations in the Near East in general.  It is anticipated that this project will not only disseminate important information to scholars around the world, but will also generate interest in the archaeology of Armenia which will result in more collaborative projects with western scholars.
